Background: Flow-through flaps (FTFs) are an advanced technique in which a free flap is anastomosed to the pedicle of another free flap to reconstruct extensive head and neck defects when recipient vessels are scarce.
Methods: A multi-institutional cohort of FTFs used for head and neck reconstruction were reviewed. For comparison, FTF outcomes were compared to free flaps that required vein grafts (VG) to reach distant recipient vessels.
Objectives: The NIH All of Us Research Program (All of Us) is engaging a diverse community of more than 10 000 registered researchers using a robust engagement ecosystem model. We describe strategies used to build an ecosystem that attracts and supports a diverse and inclusive researcher community to use the All of Us dataset and provide metrics on All of Us researcher usage growth.
Materials And Methods: Researcher audiences and diversity categories were defined to guide a strategy.
Background: This study compares the outcomes of osteocutaneous radial forearm free flap (OC-RFFF) and fibula free flap (FFF) reconstruction of mandibular osteoradionecrosis (ORN).
Methods: Retrospective review of patients undergoing OC-RFFF/FFF reconstruction for mandible ORN between 2005 and 2020 at a tertiary center. Patient characteristics, postoperative complications, and functional outcomes were evaluated using chi-squared and logistic regression analysis.
Iron cyanide compounds are among the oldest known synthetic coordination compounds, dating back to the early 18 century. By contrast, iron complexes of the cyaphide ion (C≡P)─a heavy valence isoelectronic analog of the cyanide ion─are unknown. Although vCJD cases are now rare, evidence from appendix surveys suggests that a small proportion of the United Kingdom population may be infected without showing signs of disease. These "silent" carriers could present a risk of iatrogenic vCJD transmission through medical procedures or blood/organ donation, and currently there are no validated tests to identify infected asymptomatic individuals using easily accessible samples.

Our aim was to determine STEC source and prevent additional illnesses by initiating epidemiologic, laboratory and environmental investigations.
Methods And Results: We identified cases using laboratory-based surveillance and by surveying caregivers of children who attended the exhibit.

(PNNP)Fe is also shown to catalytically dimerize terminal aryl alkynes to produce 1,3-enynes with : ratios as high as 96 : 4 with yields up to 95% and loadings as low as 1 mol% at 30 °C in 2 h. A plausible metal-ligand cooperative mechanism invoking a vinylidene intermediate is proposed.
