Cystic dystrophy of aberrant pancreatic tissue without chronic pancreatitis is a rare disease described by Potet and Duclert in 1970. Clinical diagnosis is possible by endoscopy and intraluminalsonography; we report the first case diagnosed by intraluminalsonography.

Radiographs taken at an interval of one week showed collapse of the twelfth dorsal vertebra, very suggestive of an eosinophilic granuloma. A biopsy performed during surgery, because of the rapid progression of the lesion, was able to confirm the diagnosis.

Three main arterial trunks in the right anterior, right posterior and left lateral positions can be isolated below the pectinate line. They come, for the most important part, from the superior rectal artery.
