: An increasing number of studies have reported liver involvement in both children and adults with celiac disease (CD). This often manifests as isolated hypertransaminasemia or hepatic steatosis (HS). The aim of this study was to define the prevalence of hypertransaminasemia and HS in a pediatric population with CD before starting a gluten-free diet (GFD) and to analyze how the introduction of a GFD could modify this condition.

Methods: We conducted a multicentre study involving 153 patients diagnosed with COM without cholesteatoma (ncCOM) and with cholesteatoma (cCOM).
Background: Granulosa cell tumors (GCTs) are rare neoplasia that account for less than 5 % of all the ovarian tumors. Juvenile GCT histotype is generally observed in adolescent and young women, representing a very rare disease, so only a paucity of data are present in literature. The aim of this study is to analyse the oncologic and fertility outcome in our case series of juvenile GCTs.

Despite their skyrocket growth in the last decade, a detailed understanding on their structure-property relationships is still missing. In this communication, we report two unprecedented perovskite-like materials based on polyfluorinated imidazolium cations.

However, it has been associated with a negative impact on post-operative muscle strength end pain. This study aimed to investigate the effect of tourniquet on post-operative pain and recovery in enhanced recovery joint surgery.

Materials And Methods: A total of 85 patients with a type 2 AORI defect underwent revision TKA and were treated either with TM epiphyseal augments directly screwed in the bone or with traditional titanium augments. There were 46 patients in the TM group and 39 patients in the titanium group included in the study.

Objective: This study aims to determine the prevalence and types of Onodi cells through computed tomography and investigate the relationship between Onodi cell and the surrounding structures, paying particular attention to the risky proximity to the optic nerve canal.
Methods: In this study, 430 computed tomography scans of paranasal sinuses were analysed to establish the prevalence and different types of Onodi cells. Furthermore, the relationship between Onodi cell and different patterns of sphenoid sinus pneumatisation and surrounding structures were investigated.
Aim: We examined whether metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) with or without significant fibrosis (assessed by validated non-invasive biomarkers) was associated with an increased risk of prevalent chronic kidney disease (CKD) or diabetic retinopathy in people with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).
Methods: We performed a retrospective multicenter cross-sectional study involving 1,409 adult outpatients with T1DM, in whom hepatic steatosis index (HSI) and fibrosis (FIB)-4 index were calculated for non-invasively detecting hepatic steatosis (defined by HSI > 36), with or without coexisting significant fibrosis (FIB-4 index ≥ 1.3 or < 1.
The pandemic deeply changed young adults' life. Lockdown period and the social restrictions dramatically affected university students' mental health. The aim of our cross-sectional study was to describe psychological well-being, future anxiety (FA), and health complaints (HCs) in a sample of 3,001 students of the University of Florence in the middle of the first two pandemic waves.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective, multicenter, cross-sectional study involving 1,254 adults with established T1DM without pre-existing CVD. We used the hepatic steatosis index (HSI) and fibrosis (FIB)-4 index for non-invasively detecting hepatic steatosis (defined as HSI > 36), with or without coexisting significant fibrosis (defined as FIB-4 index ≥ 1.
The family Bucephalidae is comprised of nine subfamilies, the most important being Bucephalinae with eight genera. Among these, the genus Rhipidocotyle has been found in marine and freshwater environments all over the world. Previous studies of Rhipidocotyle santanaensis have dealt with its morphology or host's ecology.

Although Zuska's disease is found relatively often in female patients, only 19 male cases have been reported. That makes Zuska's diagnosis challenging in males, leading to significant morbidity and high recurrence rates.

Objective: This observational study aims to evaluate sex-related differences in CVD prevalence and CVD risk estimates in a large cohort of T1D adults.
Methods: We conducted a multicenter, cross-sectional study involving 2041 patients with T1D (mean age 46 years; 44.
The urgent need to increase the sustainability of crop production has pushed the agricultural sector towards the use of biostimulants based on natural products. The current work aimed to determine whether the preharvest application of two commercial formulations, based on a Fabaceae enzymatic hydrolysate or a blend of nitrogen sources including fulvic acids, and two lab-made aqueous extracts from leaves (MLEs), could improve yield, quality, and storability of lettuce grown in a hydroponic system, as compared to an untreated control. Lettuce plants treated with the MLEs showed significantly improved quality parameters (leaf number, area, and color), total phenolic content and antioxidant activity, and resistance against the fungal pathogen , comparable to that obtained with commercial formulates, particularly those based on the protein hydrolysate.

Reconstruction with extensor mechanism allograft (EMA) has been described as a sound salvage procedure. Its effectiveness at long term and in septic cases is still under scrutiny.

Methods: In total, 230 computed tomography (CT) scans were reviewed to study the type of sphenoid sinus pneumatization (SSP), the protrusion and dehiscence of the ICA and ONC, the relationship between the sphenoidal septa and surrounding vital structures as well as pterygoid recess pneumatization (PRP).
Results: The most common SSP was sellar type (58.
Amphiphiles containing fluorinated segments tend to aggregate in the aqueous solution into structure of lower curvature than their hydrocarbon analogs due to their larger diameter. A benefit of supramolecular structures incorporating fluorine moieties is their high electron density, which can be viewed in cryo-TEM with better contrast than their hydrogenated forms. A modular approach has been developed for the synthesis of a new family of nonionic branched amphiphiles consisting of oligoglycerol units (G2) as the hydrophilic part and a branched fluorinated (F27) hydrophobic part.

It can be classified into two phenotypes based on the presence or absence of polypoid neoformation (respectively CRSwNP and CRSsNP). According to EPOS2020, CRS is now classified into two endotypes, eosinophilic (ECRS) and non-eosinophilic (non-ECRS), based on eosinophil tissue count (more than 10 eosinophils per High Power Field, HPF).

In these patients, endoscopic sinus surgery is the most commonly employed treatment, but clinical scenarios and comprehensive management strategies are extremely heterogeneous across studies.
Objective: We sought to systematically define treatment strategies and related success rates for sinusitis following dental implantation, detailing different current treatment choices and concepts.
Introduction: Many forms of mental disorders, especially psychotic disorders are characterized also by a worsening of sexual functioning. The main aim of this study was to validate in the Italian context the Arizona Sexual Experience Scale (ASEX), a very useful international tool to assess sexual dysfunction in people suffering from mental illness.
Methods: Seventy-three patients suffering from psychotic spectrum disorders were recruited.
