Objective: To analyze the factors associated with the hygienic-sanitary quality of donated human milk in terms of the donor profile and pumping site.
Method: Cross-sectional study with retrospective data collection of records of human milk samples donated to a Human Milk Bank in São Paulo, Brazil, from 2014 to 2019. Characteristics of human milk donors, pumping site, and hygienic-sanitary quality were analyzed based on the Standards of the Brazilian Human Milk Bank Network.

Background: The aim was to conduct a pilot study in a middle-income country testing the use of the Toronto Childhood Cancer Staging System by Population-Based Cancer Registry (PBCR).
Methods: This study involved first the translation of the Australian pediatric cancer staging manual for 16 types of pediatric tumours. Four PBCRs from different regions of Brazil were selected for a pilot study.
Objectives: To evaluate the effect of different zirconia compositions and manufacturing processes on the light irradiance (LI), to measure the degree of conversion (DC) of solely light-curing restorative composite underneath these zirconia grades and to evaluate the respective zirconia microstructures.
Methods: Six dental zirconia grades (GC HT, GC UHT [GC]; Katana HT, Katana UTML [Kuraray Noritake]; Lava Esthetic, Lava Plus [3 M Oral Care]) were cut and sintered per manufacturer instructions. One 3D-printed zirconia grade (XJet [XJET]) was prepared according to previous research.
Among US breastfeeding women, those with obesity have significantly increased breast milk fat and caloric content from foremilk to hindmilk, with a 4-fold increase in fat content from the first to last milk sample. In view of different dietary norms and nutritional standards, we sought to evaluate the relationship between maternal BMI with breast milk fat and calorie content in women from Brazil, a low-middle-income country. Women who delivered singleton-term neonates were recruited from the Ana Abrao Breastfeeding Center (AABC) and Human Milk Bank at the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

However, the complexity of the processes and the numerous experimental variables involved require a deeper understanding of the chemical reactions that take place during bioethanol production to define optimal parameters. Here, we have employed density functional theory-based calculations to investigate the local reactivity of oligomeric systems by considering crystalline and amorphous cellulose models to better understand some details regarding pulp pretreatment processes.

Methods: The SIOP 2001 protocol recommended surgery after neoadjuvant cycle(s) of Dactinomycin and Vincristine (AV) with response-adapted intensification, if needed. Adjuvant treatment was given based on the lesion with the worst histology.
Objectives: To analyze the rate of gestational syphilis (GS) based on temporal trends over 11 years, as well as the spatial distribution of GS in Brazil, based on the identification of spatial clusters.
Methodology: An ecological, using Brazil and its regions as an analysis unit, based on gestational syphilis data reported in the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), from 2011 to 2020. Thematic maps were built for spatial data analysis, and the Prais-Winsten autoregressive model was used to verify the trend.

This study focuses on the development and initial assessment of an indirect IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) specifically designed to detect of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. The unique aspect of this ELISA method lies in its utilization of a recombinant nucleocapsid (N) antigen, produced through baculovirus expression in insect cells. Our analysis involved 292 RT-qPCR confirmed positive serum samples and 54 pre-pandemic healthy controls.

Snake venoms, with their complex mixtures of components, are particularly promising targets for investigation in this regard. The search for novel molecules exhibiting antimicrobial activity against multidrug-resistant strains is of paramount importance for public health and numerous research groups worldwide.

Materials And Methods: In this prospective cohort study, patients were evaluated six months after hospitalization due to COVID-19. LUTS were assessed using the International Prostate Symptom Score.
Background: Estimates of prevalence of musculoskeletal pain in children and adolescents vary considerably and the impact of pain on children's life is often not considered.
Objective: To determine the one-month prevalence of disabling musculoskeletal pain in children and adolescents. The secondary aims are to: 1) determine the body region with the highest prevalence; 2) understand the characteristics of the children with disabling musculoskeletal pain; and 3) describe the parents' perception of the prevalence.
Objective: to analyze the initial nipple damage degree by breastfeeding practice and to associate findings with clinical manifestations of breastfeeding women.
Methods: a retrospective, cross-sectional study with primary data and photographic images database from two randomized clinical trials. Photographic images were analyzed by two independent evaluators using the Nipple Trauma Score.
Objectives: Guidelines for asthma management recommend, before establishing additional therapeutic behaviors, to confirm correct use and adequate therapeutic adherence to treatment. Evidence exists on the use of fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) values for monitoring therapeutic adherence in adults. It is important to establish whether there is a correlation between FeNO and therapeutic adherence in children.

The investigation revealed strong antiferromagnetic interactions in both radicals, which are described using the Hatfield model. For the latter radical, an abrupt and reversible change in the () plot was observed at 29 K.

Restrictions during the start of 2020 complicated timely referrals of patients to specialized centres. We aimed to evaluate the pandemic's impact on the number of new diagnoses, disease characteristics and management delay for paediatric renal tumour patients included in the SIOP-RTSG-UMBRELLA study, as compared with data from a historical SIOP-RTSG trial (2005-2009).

The adsorbents were synthesized through the wet co-precipitation technique, in which iron-oxide nanoparticles coated the cores based on coffee, cellulose, and red volcanic algae waste. The procedure resulted in materials that could be easily separated from aqueous solutions with magnets.

Frequently, binary vector systems are used for transient gene-expression in plants. However, plant virus vector-based systems offer advantages for higher protein yields due to their self-replicating machinery.

It affects immunosuppressed patients in particular and is strongly linked to acquired human immunodeficiency, organ and tissue transplants, and malignant hematologic diseases such as leukemia and lymphomas. Trichosporon infections have been increasingly reported worldwide; however, little information is available either about their characteristics or the causative microorganism.
