The thermal stability of fluorinated graphene (FG) plays an important role in its application and research, and thus it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the thermal stability of the C-F bond in FG. Herein, FG with different types and distributions of C-F/C(-F) bonds were synthesized, and the correlation between the C-F/C(-F) bonds and thermal stability of these FG samples was monitored heating infrared spectroscopy ( FTIR). The stability of the different types and distributions of C-F/C(-F) bonds in FG and the temperatures at which these C-F/C(-F) bonds were eliminated were determined.

DNA methylation, a key epigenetic driver of transcriptional silencing, is universally dysregulated in cancer. Reversal of DNA methylation by hypomethylating agents, such as the cytidine analogs decitabine or azacytidine, has demonstrated clinical benefit in hematologic malignancies. Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), normally present in groundwater and surface water, is an emerging environmental contaminants, but is extremely difficult to be degraded due to high energy of the C-F bond. Efficient destruction of perfluoroalkyl compounds in contaminated waters remains a challenge because of highly stable C-F bonds. In this study, mineralization of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) with high concentration (∼30 mg/L) was realized in a needle-plate pulsed discharge reactor integrated with a water jet (NPDW) to which microbubbles (MBs) with different carrier gases (air, N, and Ar) were introduced to enhance interfacial reactions. MBs effectively enrich dispersed PFOA from a bulk solution to a liquid surface to allow enhancing contact with reactive species and also expanding the plasma discharge area and channels.

The recombinant, live, attenuated, tetravalent dengue vaccine CYD-TDV has shown efficacy against all four dengue serotypes. A phosphorus and fluorine co-doped carbon nitride (PF-CN) photocatalyst was synthesized to modulate the band gap structure, visible light response ability and photocatalytic H evolution activity. Experimental results demonstrated that the electronic structure of g-CN was regulated by phosphorus replacing the C site and fluorine substituting the N site in the g-CN framework to form P-N species and C-F bonds, respectively. P- and F-co-doped carbon nitride gave rise to a more negative conduction band potential, larger surface area, efficient separation of photogenerated charge carriers and a faster charge transfer rate, contributing to an enhancement of photocatalytic H production activity.

HFO1234ze(E) is an environmentally friendly SF substitute gas with prominent application potential. To suppress the generation of the HFO1234ze(E) solid decomposition products, which may cause great hazards to the gas-solid insulation strength, a gas mixing scheme screening method based on the reactive force field (ReaxFF) molecular dynamics (MD) simulation was innovatively proposed. Fluorination can significantly change the physical and chemical properties of carbon materials (CMs). Common sense for the fluorination mechanism for CMs indicates that one basal-plane C-F group (CF group) can form as one fluorine atom bonded to one carbon atom along the out-of-plane carbon networks without creating edge C-F groups (including CF and CF groups) at vacancies in carbon networks. We report that fluorination can generally create edge C-F groups in multidimensional CMs such as graphite, graphene, carbon nanotubes, and fullerene, and the concentration of edge C-F groups is dependent on both the crystallinity of starting CMs and the fluorination pressure and temperature.
