[Venous thrombosis. Experience in treatment, problems and perspectives].

Background: Venous thromboembolic disease is a recurring reason for death, it is often well-known but sometimes misunderstood. The right treatment for this pathology should not follow one approach only, but several strategies with respect to the seriousness and extension of the several clinical pictures. In particular the pharmacological therapy tries to find the balance between risks and benefits.

Tumor markers in serum of patients with primary squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus.

Serum levels of several tumor markers were studied in 96 patients with untreated primary squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus. Three markers specific for digestive tract malignancies--CEA, CA19.9 and CA50--and two non organ specific indicators of malignancy--ferritin and TPA--were evaluated.
