Phosphoribosylaminoimidazole carboxylase, phosphoribosylaminoimidazole succinocarboxamide synthetase (PAICS) is a purine biosynthetic enzyme. It has been found to be overexpressed in various types of cancer and is related to cell proliferation, invasion, the epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and efficient tumor growth. In this study, we describe a rat monoclonal antibody (mAb) 6A10, which was generated as an antigen of human PAICS.

Prostacyclin (PGI) is a bioactive lipid produced by PGI synthase (PGIS) and is known to play important roles in inflammatory reactions as well as cardiovascular regulation. Glycerophosphocholine (GPC) is an important precursor for intracellular choline supply in phosphatidylcholine (PC) metabolism. GDE5/Gpcpd1 hydrolyzes GPC into choline and glycerol 3-phosphate; this study aimed to elucidate its physiological function in vivo. Heterozygous whole-body GDE5-deficient mice reveal a significant GPC accumulation across tissues, while homozygous whole-body knockout results in embryonic lethality.

Electron channeling contrast imaging (ECCI) was applied by precisely controlling the primary electron beam incident direction of the crystal plane in scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the dislocation contrast in steel materials was investigated in detail via SEM/ECCI. The dislocation contrast was observed near a channeling condition, where the incident electron beam direction of the crystal plane varied, and the backscattered electron intensity reached a local minimum. Comparing the dislocation contrasts in the visualized electron channeling contrast (ECC) images and transmission electron microscope (TEM) images, the positions of all dislocation lines were coincident.
