Mutations in the exonuclease domains of the replicative nuclear DNA polymerases POLD1 and POLE are associated with increased cancer incidence, elevated tumor mutation burden (TMB), and enhanced response to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB). Although ICB is approved for treatment of several cancers, not all tumors with elevated TMB respond, highlighting the need for a better understanding of how TMB affects tumor biology and subsequently immunotherapy response. To address this, we generated mice with germline and conditional mutations in the exonuclease domains of Pold1 and Pole.

Objective: To evaluate associations among KCNJ5 somatic mutations, clinical characteristics, incident long-term cardiovascular events, and all-cause mortality in uPA patients after adrenalectomy in a large longitudinal population study.
Methods: We enrolled uPA patients from the Taiwan Primary Aldosteronism Investigation database who had undergone adrenalectomy between 2013 and 2017 and followed them until 2020.
Background: Despite recognition of the need to increase underrepresented groups (URG) engagement in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) studies, enrollment remains low. As a first step in examining these disparities, these analyses aimed to compare referral sources for Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRC) enrollment of URG participants.
Method: These analyses included data from 48,330 participants across 46 ADRCs, obtained through the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center Uniform Data Set.
Introduction: A number of papers have reported on stressors to students in the dental curriculum. This paper analyses perceptions of strategies to improve well-being among final-year dental students in a dental curriculum.
Methods: A literature review was performed to create a question guide to explore issues of wellness and stress in a dental curriculum.
In Malaysia, tobacco smoking continues to be one of the leading public health concerns; hence, the tobacco control community aims to see a generation free of tobacco use by 2040. Drafted and presented to the parliament, the Malaysian Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Bill 2022 highlighted the Generational Endgame (GEG) policy, which forbids the use and sale of tobacco products and smoking substances to individuals born on or after 1 January 2007. Stakeholders, including government and non-governmental organisations, policymakers, healthcare professionals, tobacco industry representatives and retailers, have expressed differing opinions indicating non-support of the policy.
