Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing global health challenge, compromising bacterial infection treatments and necessitating robust surveillance and mitigation strategies. The overuse of antimicrobials in humans and farm animals has made them hotspots for AMR. However, the spread of AMR genes in wildlife and the environment represents an additional challenge, turning these areas into new AMR hotspots.

We approach this problem by studying the impact of depletion attraction on bundles of microtubules and kinesin-14 molecular motors. For all depletant concentrations, kinesin-14 bundles generate comparable extensile dynamics.

The principle is based on the alternate use of SEM to image the surface of the sample (a few nanometers thickness) and of FIB to mill the surface of the sample a few nanometers at the time. In this way, huge stacks of images can thus be acquired.

While these drugs are initially effective in treating cancer, dose-limiting peripheral neuropathies are common. Unfortunately, patients often relapse with drug-resistant tumors.
