Background: Worldwide, lung cancer (LC) is the second most frequent cancer and the leading cause of cancer related mortality. Cilia are motile or sensory organelles present on many eukaryotic cells. Their formation and function rely on axonemal microtubules, which exhibit very slow dynamics, but the underlying mechanisms are largely unexplored. Here we reconstituted in vitro the individual and collective activities of the ciliary tip module proteins CEP104, CSPP1, TOGARAM1, ARMC9 and CCDC66, which interact with each other and with microtubules and, when mutated in humans, cause ciliopathies such as Joubert syndrome.

Poor accuracy of endometrial sampling in patients with uterine carcinosarcomas: a nationwide analysis.

Objective: To determine the accuracy of aspiration biopsy (AB), hysteroscopic biopsy (HB), and dilatation & curettage (D&C) in detecting uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS).

Methods: Pathology reports were retrieved from the Dutch Nationwide Pathology Databank PALGA for patients with a certain or suggested diagnosis of UCS in pre- and/or postoperative histology between 2001 and 2021. Patients without available pre- or postoperative pathology reports were excluded.
