Amphetamine (AMPH) abuse represents a major global public health issue, highlighting the urgent need for effective therapeutic interventions to manage addiction caused by this psychostimulant. This study aimed to assess the potential of m-trifluoromethyl-diphenyldiselenide [(m-CF-PhSe)] in preventing the addictive effects induced by AMPH through targeting dopamine metabolism proteins. (m-CF-PhSe) is of interest due to its demonstrated efficacy in mitigating opioid abuse, establishing it as a promising candidate for addiction treatment research.

Gestational length of Thoroughbred mares kept in tropical and subtropical climates.

Gestation length (GL) in horses varies widely, influenced by multiple variables, including maternal, fetal, and environmental factors. This study aimed to investigate and quantify the relative contributions of climatic (photoperiod and temperature-humidity index - [THI]), maternal (age and parity), fetal (sex) and environmental (year and month of foaling) variables influencing gestation length in Thoroughbred mares. Retrospective data encompassing 704 pregnancies across nine breeding seasons in tropical and subtropical Brazilian climates were analyzed.

The present study aimed to investigate the action mechanism of chrysin on memory deficits in hypothyroid in C57BL/6 female mice. We assessed cognitive flexibility, declarative, working, and aversive memories while analyzing the BDNF/TrkB/AKT/Creb neuroplasticity signaling pathway and synaptic function in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex.

Although Aristolochia plants remain controversial due to their toxicity, this group of perianth-bearing plants, which includes the medicinal species Aristolochia esperanzae, is among the most relevant from an ethnobotanical perspective. All parts of A. esperanzae are used in popular medicine in the form of infusion for the treatment of rheumatism.
