During the pandemic, client-facing workers were perceived to be at greater risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This study investigated the risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 infection among a cohort of 304 retail workers in the Quebec City metropolitan area. After providing consent, participants were interviewed to gather information on demographic, socioeconomic, behavioural, and occupational variables.

There is a high incidence of neural tube defects (NTDs) in Ethiopia and folate insufficiency, a primary risk factor for NTDs, is common among Ethiopian women of reproductive age (WRA). Folic acid fortification of salt has been proposed as a strategy to control these problems. In preparation for an intervention trial to assess the nutritional effects of folic acid-fortified salt, we measured discretionary salt intakes among nonpregnant WRA using observed weighed food records, and we assessed household salt disappearance rates.

Background: Practices to include youth with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) are necessary to design and implement research that specifically meets the behavioral health needs of this population. This article describes a protocol for engaging youth with IDD as collaborators in a comparative effectiveness clinical trial using a community-engaged research (CEnR) approach.

Methods: Our engagement protocol, guided by the Community Engaged Research (CEnR) Framework, emphasized harm avoidance, accessibility, demonstrated value, capacity bridging and co-learning, shared power and equity in decision-making, accountability and respect, and transparent communication.
