Common variable immunodeficiency syndrome and nodular lymphoid hyperplasia in the small intestine.

We report on a case of nodular lymphoid hyperplasia (NLH) of the small intestine in a patient with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) syndrome. The CVID syndrome comprises a group of heterogeneous immunological disorders. It is characterised by hypogammaglobulinemia, recurrent sinopulmonary infections, gastrointestinal disorders (including diarrhea, infestation with Giardia lamblia, chronic-atrophic gastritis and nodular lymphoid hyperplasia (NLH), and an increased risk of malignancy.

Giant Brunneroma of the duodenum.

A case of giant hyperplasia of Brunner's glands in the duodenum is reported. Recurrent vomiting due to stenosis of the duodenum was the leading symptom. Endoscopy, ultrasound and histological examination were employed as complementary methods to establish the diagnosis.

Antral mucosa heterotopy in the duodenal bulb.

A case of heterotopic antral mucosa presenting as a typical gastric fold, located in the duodenal bulb, is described. Heterotopic gastric mucosa consisting mainly of fundic-type epithelium is commonly found in the gastrointestinal tract and predominantly in the cervical esophagus and the duodenal bulb. Heterotopic gastric mucosa composed of antral-type epithelium, especially of the size described here, is an extremely rare condition.

[Cutaneous implantation metastasis following fine-needle puncture of pancreatic cancer].

A case report form is given of a patient who developed a cutaneous implantation metastasis of a punctured pancreatic carcinoma. Needle biopsy of the tumor, located in the head of the pancreas, had been performed before, as well as drainage of the necrotic pancreas tail. Necrosis had been caused by pancreatitis due to stenosis of the pancreatic duct.
