Well-being in newly qualified doctors: exploring the value of peer-led reflective sessions.

Introduction: Following the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing pressures within the National Health Service, there has been an increasing concern about the well-being of junior doctors in the UK. Newly qualified doctors are particularly vulnerable due to the significant shift in responsibility they experience.

Objectives: To implement peer-led reflective session for foundation year 1 (FY1) (first-year postgraduation) doctors and to create a dedicated space in which doctors could share difficult or challenging experiences.

Imaging of trochlear nerve schwannomas: a case series and systematic review of the literature.

Purpose Trochlear nerve schwannomas are rare tumors. So far, only 121 cases have been published. We present four new cases, discuss the imaging characteristics and summarize all previously published cases through a systematic review.

Evaluating the incidence and utility of microscopic metastatic dissemination as diagnosed by lumbar cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF) samples in children with newly diagnosed intracranial ependymoma.

Ependymomas are the third most common central nervous system (CNS) tumor in childhood. After resection, the standard evaluation of intracranial ependymomas includes a post-contrast spine MRI and a lumbar CSF sample to evaluate for metastasis. Although it is estimated that 10-30% of patients will present with metastatic disease, it is unclear what percentage of metastatic disease is solely identified microscopically via lumbar cytology versus that identified as bulky disease on post-contrast spinal MRIs.

A proposed eye irritation testing strategy to reduce and replace in vivo studies using Bottom-Up and Top-Down approaches.

In spite of over 20 years of effort, no single in vitro assay has been developed and validated as a full regulatory replacement for the Draize Eye Irritation test. However, companies have been using in vitro methods to screen new formulations and in some cases as their primary assessment of eye irritation potential for many years. The present report shows the outcome of an Expert Meeting convened by the European Centre for the Validation of Alternative Methods in February 2005 to identify test strategies for eye irritation.
