Purpose: We sought to develop and validate a deep learning model for segmentation of 13 features associated with neovascular and atrophic age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Design: Development and validation of a deep-learning model for feature segmentation.
Methods: Data for model development were obtained from 307 optical coherence tomography volumes.
Background: Although the association between H. pylori and gastric cancer has been well described, the alterations studies are scarce in the humoral immune response in specific anatomical areas of stomach and during the stages of gastric cancer. The aim in this study was to determine the influence of humoral immune responses against H.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA Gas Chromatography (GC) method has been developed for the separation and characterization of the different fatty acids in anhydrous milk fat (AMF) by means of an ionic liquid stationary phase, characterized by a monocationic imidazolium salt derived from L-phenylalanine. The inner surface of a fused silica capillary column was modified using this ionic liquid functionality and 3-aminopropyldiethoxymethyl silane. This coated GC column, which exhibited good thermal stability (270°C) and good efficiency (2700 plates/m), has been characterized using the Abraham solvation parameter model.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) causes significant economic losses to the dairy industry worldwide, and understanding its infection mechanisms would be extremely useful in designing new and efficient treatments. Due to the limited number of specific antibodies against bovine proteins, differential gene expression analyses are vital for researching host immune responses to viral infection. qRT-PCR provides a sensitive platform to conduct such gene expression analyses, but suitable housekeeping genes are needed for accurate transcript normalization.
