Alleviation of vulvovaginitis symptoms: can probiotics lead the treatment plan?

Disruption of vaginal microbiota equilibrium promotes infectious clinical syndromes with annoying symptoms, such as vaginal discharge, odour, irritation, pruritus, and vulvar burning. Although identifying and eradicating the pathogen involved has been the standard of care, regional microbiota restoration with probiotics has been gaining ground in recent years. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of topical treatment for patients exhibiting vaginal discomfort symptoms.

Maternal hyperthyroidism after intrauterine insemination due to hypertrophic action of human chorionic gonadotropin: a case report.

Purpose Of Investigation: To report a rare case of maternal hyperthyroidism after intrauterine insemination due to hypertrophic action of hCG.

Materials And Methods: A 36-year-old woman after successful intrauterine insemination and triplet pregnancy, developed hyperthyroidism with resistance to medical treatment.

Results: All signs of hyperthyroidism resolved and the results of thyroid function tests returned to normal without any medication after embryo meiosis.

Laparoscopic microwave ablation of liver tumors: our experience.

Background/aims: Microwave ablation is the most recent development in the field of tumor ablation and is a well established and safe local ablative method available for liver tumors (both primary and secondary tumors). The technique allows for flexible approaches to treatment, including percutaneous, laparoscopic, and open surgical access. Laparoscopic technique has the advantages of accurate tumor staging, better tolerability and low cost.
