This work describes the design and implementation of optics for EXCLAIM, the EXperiment for Cryogenic Large-Aperture Intensity Mapping. EXCLAIM is a balloon-borne telescope that will measure integrated line emission from carbon monoxide at redshifts z < 1 and ionized carbon ([CII]) at redshifts z = 2.5 - 3.

All Suture Biceps Tenodesis Has Greater Biomechanical Strength Than Metal Button Fixation.

Purpose: To evaluate the maximal load to failure, cyclic displacement, stiffness, and modes of failure of onlay subpectoral biceps tenodesis with an intramedullary unicortical metal button (MB) versus an inlay, all-suture Caspari-Weber (CW) technique.

Methods: Sixteen matched paired human cadaveric proximal humeri were randomly allocated for subpectoral BT with either CW or MB using a high-strength suture (N = 16; 8 male, 8 female, mean age = 82.5 years, range 62-99 years).

Protective antibodies target cryptic epitope unmasked by cleavage of malaria sporozoite protein.

The most advanced monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and vaccines against malaria target the central repeat region or closely related sequences within the circumsporozoite protein (PfCSP). Here, using an antigen-agnostic strategy to investigate human antibody responses to whole sporozoites, we identified a class of mAbs that target a cryptic PfCSP epitope that is only exposed after cleavage and subsequent pyroglutamylation (pGlu) of the newly formed N terminus. This pGlu-CSP epitope is not targeted by current anti-PfCSP mAbs and is not included in the licensed malaria vaccines.

Emotional Intelligence Professional Development at a Health-Sciences University: A Pilot Study in Dental Hygiene Faculty.

Purpose: Emotional intelligence (EI) correlates with an educator's ability to engage with students, leading to a positive experience for the educator and the students. This study evaluated an EI course designed to guide faculty in the advancement of their own EI and their ability to incorporate EI student activities into the curriculum.

Methods: Five dental hygiene faculty participated in this mixed-methods study.
