Nanosponge-Based Composite Gel Polymer Electrolyte for Safer Li-O Batteries.

Li-O batteries represent a promising rechargeable battery candidate to answer the energy challenges our world is facing, thanks to their ultrahigh theoretical energy density. However, the poor cycling stability of the Li-O system and, overall, important safety issues due to the formation of Li dendrites, combined with the use of organic liquid electrolytes and O cross-over, inhibit their practical applications. As a solution to these various issues, we propose a composite gel polymer electrolyte consisting of a highly cross-linked polymer matrix, containing a dextrin-based nanosponge and activated with a liquid electrolyte.

Effectiveness of prophylactic antibiotics at placement of dental implants: a pragmatic multicentre placebo-controlled randomised clinical trial.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of prophylactic antibiotics for dental implant placement.

Materials And Methods: Thirteen dentists working in private practices agreed to participate in this trial, each centre providing 50 patients. One hour prior to implant placement, patients were randomised to take orally 2 g amoxicillin or identical placebo tablets.

Immediate occlusal versus non-occlusal loading of single zirconia implants. A multicentre pragmatic randomised clinical trial.

Purpose: To evaluate whether immediate non-occlusal loading of single zirconia implants could reduce early failures when compared to immediate occlusal loading.

Materials And Methods: Forty partially edentulous patients who received one single zirconia implant (Z-Systems) at least 10 mm long and 3.25 mm wide inserted with a torque of at least 35 Ncm were randomised to immediate occlusal or non-occlusal loading groups.

Immediate versus early loading of flapless-placed implants supporting maxillary full-arch prostheses: a randomised controlled clinical trial.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of flapless placed implants immediately or early loaded at 2 months with full-arch prostheses.

Materials And Methods: Thirty patients were randomised: 15 to the immediately loaded group and 15 to the early loaded group. All implants had to be inserted with a minimum torque > 48 Ncm.
