In response to various stressors, cells can enter a state called cellular senescence which is characterized by irreversible cell cycle arrest and a senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). The progressive accumulation of senescent glial cells in the central nervous system (CNS) with aging suggests a potential role for senescence as driver of aging and inflammation in the brain. As the main immune cell population residing in the CNS, microglia are thought to play a pivotal role in the progression of age-associated neuroinflammation.

Experimental tract-tracing studies have shown that these subcortical projections are topographically organized, reflecting the spatial organization of sensory surfaces and body parts. Several public collections of mouse- and rat- brain tract-tracing data are available, with the Allen mouse brain connectivity atlas being most prominent.

Disruptions in axon pathfinding and connectivity impairments will lead to neural circuitry abnormalities, often associated with various neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). Among several neuroimaging methodologies, Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) is a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique that has the advantage of visualizing in 3D the WM tractography of the whole brain non-invasively.

Icahn School of Medicine's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center transitioned longitudinal evaluations from in-person to telephone to enhance equity of access. We assessed diverse research participants' and clinical research coordinators' (CRC) satisfaction with remote evaluation and examined sociodemographic, cognitive, and behavioral factors that might impact satisfaction.
