[Impact of the use of luer access devices on the quality of chronic hemodialysis].

Luer access valves are medical devices used to reduce infectious risks by securing repetitive handling in chronic hemodialysis using central catheter. Their impact on the effectiveness of a hemodialysis session still remains poorly studied. This in vivo study aims to evaluate its effectiveness.

Destruction of polymer growth substrates for cell cultures in two-photon microscopy.

The choice of the growth substrate for cell cultures used in fluorescence microscopy is guided by several factors including the type of cells studied and the type of microscopy used. Usually, cells can be cultured on either polymer or glass substrates. One type of polymer, termed Aclar, presents several attractive features: the adhesive properties are better than those of glass, the optical properties are comparable to those of glass, it is biochemically inert, unbreakable, flexible and has a high surface tension, convenient for seeding cells on the cover slip.

[Moyamoya disease: importance of the MRI-MRA combination and difficulties in management and follow-up in 7 cases].

Purpose: To point out the importance of both MRI and MR angiography for the diagnosis and follow-up of moyamoya disease.

Materials And Methods: We report seven cases. MRI was performed in the initial phase in three cases.

[Malignant obstructive jaundice: the role of percutaneous metallic stents].

Objectives: Efficiency evaluation of percutaneous metallic stents in palliative treatment of malignant biliary obstruction.

Methods: One hundred sixteen percutaneous metallic stents were implanted in 80 patients with malignant biliary obstruction. Thirty-five patients had hilar obstruction, 32 patients obstruction of the common bile duct and 12 patients obstruction of a bilioenteric anastomosis.
