Early-onset Alzheimer's disease (EOAD) is less investigated than the more common late-onset Alzheimer's disease (LOAD) despite its more aggressive course. A cortical signature of EOAD was recently proposed and may facilitate EOAD investigation. Here, we aimed to validate this proposed MRI biomarker of EOAD neurodegeneration in an Appalachian clinical cohort.

Estuaries are the main pathway for the microplastics (MPs) to enter into the oceans. However, factors that drive river-sea transport of MPs are not yet fully understood. Therefore, our research investigated the influence of the tidal cycle on the abundance and characteristics of MPs in an urban estuary, through high-frequency sampling (every 2-3 h) using a plankton net (120 μm mesh size) in two seasons (rainy and dry seasons).

Edible insects are attracting increasing interest as sustainable alternative protein sources. Despite being considered a safe food for most population, their consumption can pose health risks for allergic patients. This work focused on isolating proteins from the four-European Union approved insects (Tenebrio molitor, Alphitobius diaperinus, Acheta domesticus, and Locusta migratoria) and evaluating their potential immunoglobulin E (IgE)-reactivity with crustacean-allergic patients' sera.

This study compared the effects of different final irrigation protocols on the mechanical properties and structural integrity of root dentine. One-hundred eight teeth were instrumented and irrigated with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) using conventional irrigation (CI). Teeth were distributed into four groups based on final irrigation protocols: Control Group (CG): 17%EDTA/CI + H2O; G1: 2.

Introduction: Prospective registration of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) is highly recommended to ensure research transparency and prevent selective outcome reporting (SOR). This study aimed to evaluate the adherence to registration and the presence of SOR in RCTs published in endodontic journals over the past 5 years.

Methods: Electronic searches were conducted in PubMed and the libraries of the Journal of Endodontics, International Endodontic Journal, European Endodontic Journal, and Australian Endodontic Journal.
