Cancer is still the disease that ranks first in human mortality in the twenty-first century. In the last 20 years, the concept of molecular targeted therapy has come to the fore with the use of small molecule agents or signal transduction inhibitors that show anticancer effects for certain types of cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, which have a therapeutic effect, especially by providing signal transduction inhibition, are used clinically as first-line treatment in various types of cancer.

Is Endoscopic Resection Essential for Patients with Type 1 Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumor?

The gastric neuroendocrine tumor (g-NET) is now more frequently diagnosed due to the widespread use and advancement of endoscopy. In our study, we aimed to discuss the superiority, if any, between the watch-and-wait approach and endoscopic treatment methods for the controversial management of type 1 g-NETs, as well as to evaluate their long-term outcomes. The data of 81 patients who underwent gastroscopy due to complaints related to the upper gastrointestinal system and were diagnosed with type 1 g-NET as a result of biopsy taken from suspicious stomach lesions were examined.

Global 30-day morbidity and mortality of surgery for perforated peptic ulcer: GRACE study.

Background: There is little international data on morbidity and mortality of surgery for perforated peptic ulcer (PPU). This study aimed to understand the global 30-day morbidity and mortality of patients undergoing surgery for PPU and to identify variables associated with these.

Method: We performed an international study of adults (≥ 18 years) who underwent surgery for PPU from 1st January 2022 to 30th June 2022.

A case of left testicular artery with high origin passing through a left renal vein fenestration.

Background: Fenestrations of are extremely rare in the venous system, especially renal veins. This paper aims to present a case of left renal vein fenestration where a high origin testicular artery passes through it. Materials and Methods The variation was observed incidentally in a 74-year-old Caucasian male cadaver during routine retroperitoneal dissections for second year medical students.
