Background: Although functional outcomes of total elbow arthroplasty (TEA) for distal humerus fractures are satisfactory, there is a high rate of complications. This study aims to characterize the 30-day complications, readmissions, and mortality of patients with TEA for distal humerus fractures in a large registry database.

Methods: Patients who underwent TEA for a distal humerus fracture were identified from the 2015 to 2020 ACS-NSQIP (American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program) database.

Objective: The objective was to discern whether the cranial sagittal vertical axis (CrSVA) can best predict the trajectory of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) at 2 years postoperatively.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of prospectively collected adult spinal deformity patient data. CrSVA relative to the sacrum, hip (CrSVA-H), knee, and ankle was measured as the horizontal distance to the vertical plumb line from the nasion-inion midpoint, with positive values indicating an anterior cranium.

Objective: To determine whether robotic-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) with intracorporeal urinary diversion (ICUD) compared to open radical cystectomy (ORC) or RARC with extracorporeal urinary diversion (ECUD) would result in a decreased rate of surgical site complications. RARC has been shown to be non-inferior to ORC. Both RARC and ORC are complicated by a high rate of perioperative morbidity, including wound-related complications, which may be decreased by a robotic approach with intracorporeal diversion.

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in braking and propulsion force-time characteristics and barbell velocity between traditional (TRAD) and accentuated eccentric loaded (AEL) back squats using various load combinations. Sixteen resistance-trained men participated in four separate testing sessions which included a one repetition maximum (1RM) back squat during the first session and three squat testing sessions. During the squat testing sessions, participants either performed sets of three repetitions of TRAD back squats each with 50, 60, 70, and 80% 1RM or performed the same loads with the addition of weight releasers that increased the total eccentric weight of the first repetition of each set to either 100 (AEL-MAX) or 110% 1RM (AEL-SUPRA).

Pacak-Zhuang syndrome is caused by mutations in the EPAS1 gene, which encodes for one of the three hypoxia-inducible factor alpha (HIFα) paralogs HIF2α and is associated with defined but varied phenotypic presentations including neuroendocrine tumors and polycythemia. However, the mechanisms underlying the complex genotype-phenotype correlations remain incompletely understood. Here, we devised a quantitative method for determining the dissociation constant (K) of the HIF2α peptides containing disease-associated mutations and the catalytic domain of prolyl-hydroxylase (PHD2) using microscale thermophoresis (MST) and showed that neuroendocrine-associated Class 1 HIF2α mutants have distinctly higher K than the exclusively polycythemia-associated Class 2 HIF2α mutants.
