Dermal regeneration template (DRT) has been well widely implicated in the reconstruction of full-thickness injury. We present our experience and our clinical application of Pelnac® to achieve wound closure with complex acute, upper limb, full-thickness defect post-trauma. A 22-year-old boy presented a soft tissues loss of the back of the hand and forearm with tendon's involvement and exposure.

The authors compared the traditional conservative approach and a new treatment based on the injection of liposuction aspirate fluid.
Methods: Forty consecutive patients with a fingertip injury were dichotomized into group A (control group; conservative approach) and group B (treatment group).
Today, microsurgery plays a fundamental role in plastic surgery, expanding surgical possibilities for cancer, trauma and aesthetic-related surgery. However, throughout the years, teaching and training systems for microsurgery have not evolved in the same manner as its operative techniques. View Article and Find Full Text PDFThis study reports the outcome of a series of ten microsurgical fingertip reconstructions with partial toe transfers in which the vascular pedicle was exteriorised and subsequently excised after the transfer had become established. The aim of this technique was to provide better aesthetic and functional outcomes. The technique was successful and without complication in nine of the ten patients who had excellent functional and aesthetic outcomes.

The conventional microvascular anastomosis (CI), with single interrupted stitches, requires a long time to be completed, as each suture must be tied before starting the following stitch. Surgeons are often searching to reduce microsurgery time, particularly when there are multiple vessels to be anastomosed or when there is a prerequisite for the ischemia time to be quick.
