Purpose: To describe unusual rotator cuff tendon tears which are hyperechoic at ultrasonography (US).

Materials And Method: We retrospectively reviewed the shoulder US examinations of 100 patients with rotator cuff tear demonstrated by CT arthrogram with bursography. We included in this study hyperechoic foci without surrounding hypoechoic zone.

Epidural lipomatosis (EL) is characterized by abnormal accumulation of unencapsulated fat in the epidural space, and usually occurs as a complication of longterm steroid therapy. This condition, which may result in devastating neurologic complications, has also been reported without exogenous steroid intake. We describe a case of nonsteroid induced symptomatic EL associated with obesity, and emphasize the possibility of effective medical management of this entity with weight reduction instead of decompressive laminectomy whenever neurologic symptoms are mild and stable.

A prospective study of delayed sequences after intravenous injection of gadolinium for knee MRI shows the similar results as from the literature: enhancement of synovial fluid after 30 minutes. Sixteen patients were studied mainly with gradient echo. This phenomenon improves the visualisation of the intraarticular structures like meniscus, cruciate ligaments, or cartilage.

Amebic liver abscess is the most common extraintestinal complication of invasive amebiasis. Amebic abscess is most often located in the right lobe of the liver which is affected four times as often as the left lobe. Location in the caudate lobe is exceptional.
