Objective: To compare the vocal symptomatology of professors from a federal university who engaged in distance, hybrid, and face-to-face teaching during and after the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic period.

Method: The study included 40 university professors, 20 men and 20 women, whose symptomatology was monitored at three time points: during the distance teaching period due to social isolation caused by COVID-19, in hybrid teaching (partial return), and upon returning to face-to-face teaching, which required the use of face masks and posed contamination risks.

Results: The hybrid phase presented the highest absence of vocal complaints/discomfort, and most participants did not need to be reassigned due to vocal problems.

Aim: To assess for the first time the safety and feasibility of combining photon-IntraOperative RadioTherapy (ph-IORT) with hypofractionated whole-breast irradiation (hWBI) in patients referred to adjuvant radiotherapy after Breast-Conserving Surgery (BCS).

Methods: From February 2019 to August 2020, patients referred for breast-conserving surgery (BCS) in our institution were prospectively included in the present trial. BCS was discussed in the multidisciplinary tumor board (MTB).

Coxofemoral dysplasia is a condition characterized by the abnormal development and flattening of the femoral head and deformities in the acetabulum, leading to joint instability. Although described in various animal species, it is uncommon and rarely reported in horses. This article presents a case of incapacitating coxofemoral dysplasia diagnosed in a four-month-old foal Mangalarga Marchador, which exhibited lameness in the hind limbs, thoracolumbar kyphosis, gluteal muscle atrophy, and pronounced sensitivity during pelvic limb flexion.

Background: Research on the use of prophylactic inferior vena cave filter (IVCF) placement prior to metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS) in high risk patients has yielded conflicting results. We evaluated thrombotic events and mortality in patients with a history of venous thromboembolism (VTE) who underwent IVCF placement in anticipation of MBS.

Methods: We queried the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) database for all patients undergoing primary sleeve gastrectomy or Roux-en-Y gastric bypass from 2015 to 2019 with a history of VTE.

The advancement of digital agriculture combined with computational tools and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has opened the way to large-scale data collection for the calculation of vegetation indices (VIs). These vegetation indexes (VIs) are useful for agricultural monitoring, as they highlight the inherent characteristics of vegetation and optimize the spatial and temporal evaluation of different crops. The experiment tested three coffee genotypes (Catuaí 62, E237 and Iapar 59) under five water regimes: (1) FI 100 (year-round irrigation with 100% replacement of evapotranspiration), (2) FI 50 (year-round irrigation with 50% evapotranspiration replacement), (3) WD 100 (no irrigation from June to September (dry season) and, thereafter, 100% evapotranspiration replacement), (4) WD 50 (no irrigation from June to September (water stress) and, thereafter, 50% evapotranspiration replacement) and (5) rainfed (no irrigation during the year).
