The infant urine metabolome provides a body metabolic snapshot, and the sample collection can be done without stressing the fragile infant. 424 infant urine samples from 157 infants were sampled longitudinally at 1-, 2-, and 3 months of age. 49 metabolites were detected using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Decoding intervention for young students with mild intellectual disabilities: A single-subject design study.

Students with intellectual disabilities need more time and explicit instruction to develop word decoding. Most previous research on interventions among these students is performed in English. Therefore, the current study examined the impact of a word-decoding intervention in Swedish on individual students with intellectual disabilities.

Nationally Certified Stroke Centers Outperform Self-Attested Stroke Centers in the Florida Stroke Registry.

Background: The Florida Stroke Act, signed into law in 2004, set criteria for Comprehensive Stroke Centers (CSC). For a set time period, Florida hospitals were permitted to either receive national certification (NC) or could self-attest (SA) as fulfilling CSC criteria. The aim of this project was to evaluate the quality of ischemic stroke care in NC versus SA stroke centers in Florida, using well-known, guideline-driven ischemic stroke outcome metrics.
