This study investigates the fluence-dependent evolution of gold nanoparticles formed through single nanosecond pulsed laser dewetting of a gold thin film on a fused silica substrate. By employing a well-defined Airy-like laser spatial profile and reconstructing scanning electron microscope images across the irradiation spot into a panoramic view, we achieve a detailed continuous analysis of the nanoparticle formation process. Our morphological analysis, combined with finite element thermal simulations directly correlated with the applied fluence, identifies two distinct thresholds.

Layered double perovskites have the potential to further expand the vast space of optoelectronic properties and applications of halide perovskites. Among the ∼60 known members, to date only the ⟨111⟩-oriented layered double perovskites, CsCdMnBiCl, have shown efficient photoluminescence (PL). The replacement of Bi with Sb in these materials was investigated, resulting in two new families of layered inorganic perovskite alloys with full solubility.

Growing ultrathin nanogranular (NG) metallic films with continuously varying thickness is of great interest for studying regions of criticality and scaling behaviors in the vicinity of quantum phase transitions. In the present work, an ultrathin gold plasmonic NG film was grown on a sapphire substrate by RF magnetron sputtering with an intentional deposition gradient to create a linearly variable thickness ranging from 5 to 13 nm. The aim is to accurately study the electronic phase transition from the quantum tunneling regime to the metallic conduction one.

The interaction between two ns-laser-induced plasmas in air at the early-stage of expansion has been analyzed by using a method based on the direct measurement of the perturbation of an externally applied electric field. In this experimental method, the plasmas were produced by focusing two laser beams between the plates of a parallel-plane-charged capacitor. These plasmas produce a perturbation in the electric field of the capacitor which can be measured as a voltage change across a resistor connected to the ground plate.

The influence on luminescence from conical bubble collapse (CBL) with varying Ar gas content while perturbing the liquid 1,2-Propanediol (PD) has been investigated. The temporal, spatial, and spectral features were analysed with regards to the dynamics of collapse and liquid degradation. Sulphuric acid and sodium chloride were added to disturb the liquid.
