Attitudes and perceptions of health schools' students toward mobile learning: a cross-sectional study.

Background: Mobile devices are now widely and extensively used by university students. With the rapid advancement in technology, mobile learning has become an important educational model, particularly for health schools' students. This research aims to investigate the attitudes of health schools' students in Jordan towards mobile learning, as well as their perceptions of mobile learning advantages and disadvantages compared to the traditional face-to-face learning model.

This manuscript presents a new report on the in vitro antimicrobial photo-inactivation of foodborne microorganisms (Salmonella spp. and Listeria monocytogenes) using tetra-cationic porphyrins. Isomeric tetra-cationic porphyrins (3MeTPyP, 4MeTPyP, 3PtTPyP, and 4PtTPyP) were tested, and antimicrobial activity assays were performed at specific photosensitizer concentrations under dark and white-light LED irradiation conditions.

Oxidative protein damage involving carbonylation of respiratory tract proteins typically accompanies exposure to tobacco smoke. Such damage can arise via multiple mechanisms, including direct amino acid oxidation by reactive oxygen species or protein adduction by electrophilic aldehydes. This study investigated the relative importance of these pathways during exposure of a model protein to fresh cigarette emission extracts.

Background: Invasive group A streptococcal disease (iGAS) is caused by group A bacteria. In 2022, multiple disease alerts for iGAS in the Island Health region, in the context of increased infections in the paediatric population in Europe and the United States, prompted further investigation into local trends. This surveillance study summarizes epidemiological trends of iGAS in the region covered by Island Health, a regional health authority in British Columbia, in 2022.

Making research and evaluation more useful and more interesting for information services and their users: A guide for students and practitioners.

Reflections on the recent increase in the number of cross-sectional surveys received by the editorial team of the journal indicated that potential contributors might consider other research techniques, in addition to, or instead of a survey. In this article, Christine Urquhart discusses some different research designs, and different research methods that may help students and practitioners find useful answers to questions about professional practice beyond the standard survey. Researchers could consider research designs such as quasi-experimental techniques, controlled before-after studies, and interrupted time series.
