Background: The COVID-19 pandemic led to widespread adoption of virtual communication platforms. Virtual study visits were implemented in the pilot cluster randomized trial (CRT) stage of Teen Adherence in KidnEy transplant Improving Tracking To Optimize Outcomes (TAKE-IT TOO). The present study aimed to understand study coordinators' perspectives on conducting a behavioral intervention with adolescent kidney transplant recipients using virtual conferencing platforms.

Evaluating a Decade of Surgical Solutions: Pediatric Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction Treatment Outcomes in Malaysia.

Objective: This study aims to determine the outcomes of probing and external dacryocystorhinostomy (exDCR) for congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (cNLDO) and the factors influencing the success rates in pediatric cNLDO.

Design: A retrospective sample collection was conducted at the oculoplastic referral center over 10 years (January 2012 to December 2022) for cNLDO patients who had undergone probing or exDCR.

Methodology: Data were retrospectively reviewed for patients aged ≤18 years who underwent probing or exDCR.

Incidence and Risk Factors for Hypertension among Children with Nephrotic Syndrome.

Objectives: To determine incidence and risk factors for hypertension in childhood nephrotic syndrome.

Study Design: Using data from the Insight into Nephrotic Syndrome (INSIGHT) study, a prospective observational childhood nephrotic syndrome cohort from Toronto, Canada, we evaluated hypertension incidence and time-to-hypertension overall and stratified by 1) steroid-resistance or steroid-sensitivity, and 2) frequently-relapsing, steroid dependent, or infrequently-relapsing. Hypertension was defined as stage 1-2 hypertensive blood pressure on two consecutive visits or anti-hypertensive medication initiation.

Efficacy and safety of methotrexate in the treatment of proliferative vitreoretinopathy: a systematic review.

Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy (PVR) is a major complication of surgical repair for Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment (RRD). Methotrexate (MTX), a folate antimetabolite, has shown promise in targeting the pathological processes involved in PVR, such as cell proliferation inhibition, fibrosis and anti-inflammation. Systematic review examines the use of MTX in PVR by analysing different administration methods and outcomes.

Prolonged remission after cyclophosphamide or tacrolimus treatment in childhood nephrotic syndrome: a cohort study.

Background: Steroid-sparing immunosuppression is used in 50% of children with nephrotic syndrome, to prevent relapses and steroid-related toxicity. However, rates and predictors of prolonged remission after cyclophosphamide and tacrolimus are uncertain.
