Photodynamic therapy as a strategic ally in radiotherapy for triple-negative breast cancer: the importance of treatment order.

Purpose: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) accounts for 20% of all breast cancer cases and is notably resistant to radiotherapy (RT). Photodynamic therapy (PDT) using porphyrins or their derivatives has shown promise as a potential cancer treatment and immune activator. This study evaluated the effects of combining PDT and RT in sublethal conditions for TNBC using in vitro and in vivo models.

The present study aimed to analyze notifications of intimate partner violence (IPV) against indigenous women in the macro-region of Dourados-MS, Brazil, from 2009 to 2020. This is a cross-sectional study with secondary data from registered reports in the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN) of indigenous women who suffered violence. Descriptive statistics of the variables and Poisson regression were performed to determine the prevalence ratio (PR).

Exposure to Oil Spill Among Fishers on the Brazilian Coast in 2019/2020.

Objective: In 2019/2020, the Brazilian coast was affected by the largest oil spill disaster affecting the extent of the coastline recorded in tropical oceans. The impact on fishing areas and the prohibition of seafood sales and consumption exacerbated small-scale fishers' vulnerability. The small-scale fishers (SSFs) were the most active in protecting fishing territories, carrying out cleanup efforts without adequate personal protective equipment.
