Objective: To examine the association between quantitative vascular parameters extracted from intravenous fluorescein angiography (IVFA) and baseline clinical characteristics of patients with retinal vein occlusion (RVO).

Methods: Our prospective single-centre study in Toronto, Canada, recruited patients with a diagnosis of macular edema secondary to RVO presenting with a central macular thickness (CMT) ≥310 μm from 2017 to 2023. IVFA images were captured using an ultra-widefield scanning laser ophthalmoscope and processed using the artificial intelligence-based RETICAD system to extract quantitative measurements of blood flow, perfusion, and blood-retinal barrier (BRB) permeability.

Purpose: To our knowledge, we present the first case series investigating the relationship between adaptive optics (AO) imaging and intravenous fluorescein angiography (IVFA) parameters in patients with diabetic retinopathy.

Methods: Consecutive patients with diabetic retinopathy older than age 18 years presenting to a single center in Toronto, Canada, from 2020 to 2021 were recruited. Adaptive optics was performed with the RTX1 camera (Imagine Eyes, Orsay, France) at retinal eccentricities of 2° and 4°.

Macropinocytosis is a conserved endocytic process by which cells engulf droplets of medium into micron-sized vesicles. We use light-sheet microscopy to define an underlying set of principles by which macropinocytic cups are shaped and closed in Dictyostelium amoebae. Cups form around domains of PIP3 stretching almost to their lip and are supported by a specialized F-actin scaffold from lip to base.
