Background: Distal intestinal obstruction syndrome (DIOS) presents significant management challenges for people with cystic fibrosis (pwC). We evaluated the treatment outcomes and identified risk factors associated with the need for surgical intervention in patients admitted with DIOS.

Method: We conducted a retrospective case series of 96 encounters of DIOS over a 20-year period, observing outcomes between cases of medical management versus those requiring for operative intervention.

Background: The availability of deep brain stimulation (DBS), a highly efficacious treatment for several movement disorders, remains low in developing countries, with scarce data available on utilization and outcomes.

Objective: We characterized the DBS cohort and outcomes at a Malaysian quaternary medical center.

Methods: A retrospective chart review was done on DBS-related surgery at the University of Malaya, including clinico-demographic, genetics, and outcomes data focusing on post-operative medication reduction and complications.

Background: Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a rare neuromuscular disorder, and data on the impact of patients' race on treatment outcomes and health care resource utilization are lacking.

Studies on the effectiveness of community-based health interventions (CBHIs) in improving lifestyle practices among older adults are limited. This study evaluated the impact of a CBHI on health knowledge, lifestyle goal attainment, and practices among older adults in Singapore. Older adults (aged ≥60 years) were recruited from 29 senior recreation centres to participate in the "Wise and Well" programme, a 3-month CBHI designed to empower individuals to make healthier lifestyle choices.
