Unlabelled: The immune system plays a central role in controlling acute hepatitis B infection and in patients resolving chronic hepatitis B (CHB). Given that 221 million (75%) of CHB patients reside in low- and middle-income countries, the development of a vaccine with therapeutic properties represents a rational and cost-effective approach more than a romantic endeavor. This review systematically analyzes the key variables related to the safety, efficacy, and effectiveness of CHB treatments.

This initiative has empowered the global vaccine community since 2009 including contributing toward the development and optimization of vaccine candidates as well as the provision of new adjuvants, research protocols, and technologies. Scientific services were provided in support of 88 different vaccine development projects, and 400 professionals attended TRANSVAC training events on various vaccine-related topics.

Still, vaccination coverage among adults in Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan, remains suboptimal, and data about immune responses to HBV vaccination are lacking. HBV vaccination is given as three injections, whereby the second and third doses are given 1 and 6 months after the first (0-1-6 scheme).

With advancing age comes an increase in the number of life events that can perpetuate a state of loneliness such as losing a life partner, dwindling social networks, and deteriorating health conditions. This burden can manifest in a variety of mental and physical consequences.

In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of our vaccine prototype in immunization strategies aimed at reducing disease transmission by targeting colonization in the upper airways while maintaining protection against severe disease by reducing colonization in the lower respiratory tract.
Methods: We assessed different mucosal administration strategies in a murine model, including homologous mucosal 2-dose prime-boost schedules and heterologous prime-boost strategies combining intramuscular (IM) systemic immunization with mucosal routes (intranasal, IN; or sublingual, SL).
