Randomized study of tolerance and efficacy of a home-use intense pulsed light (IPL) source compared to the hot-wax method.

Background: More and more we are seeing depilatory mechanisms based on IPL technology and used at home. As far as we know, these appliance have not undergone either safety or efficacy testing.

Aims: The aim of the study was to compare tolerance and efficacy of two depilation methods a medical device in-home-use IPL (E-One) and hot wax.

[Fluoroscopy guided L5-S1 transforaminal injection as a treatement for s1 radiculopathy].

Objective: To assess the efficacy of fluoroscopy guided L5-S1 transforaminal steroid injections for the treatment of S1 radiculopathy secondary to intervertebral disk disorder.

Method: 41 patients were included: prospective study (20 patients) and retrospective study (21 patients). All patients suffered from S1 radiculopathy secondary to nerve root compression by intervertebral disk material, as demonstrated by lumbar spine CT.

MRI/TRUS data fusion for prostate brachytherapy. Preliminary results.

Prostate brachytherapy involves implanting radioactive seeds (I125 for instance) permanently in the gland for the treatment of localized prostate cancers, e.g., cT1c-T2a N0 M0 with good prognostic factors.

[Infective dermatitis and recurrent strongyloidiasis in a child].

Introduction: Infective dermatitis is a chronic childhood dermatosis, associated with HTLV-1 infection. We report the observation of a young Haitian girl in French Guyana.

Observation: An 8 year-old girl presented recurring dermatosis on the scalp and armpits since she was 2 years old.
