Current Evidence in the Systemic Treatment of Brain Metastases from Breast Cancer and Future Perspectives on New Drugs, Combinations and Administration Routes: A Narrative Review.

Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed neoplasm all over the world and the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Breast cancer prognosis has significantly improved in the last years due to the advent of novel therapeutic options, both in the early and in advanced stages. However, the spread of the disease to the brain, accounting for 15-30% of the metastatic diagnoses, is challenging, and its poor prognosis represents an unmet medical need, leading to deterioration of quality of life and causing morbidity and mortality.

Prevalence and impact of vasomotor symptoms due to menopause among women in Canada: A subgroup analysis from an international cross-sectional survey of Women with Vasomotor Symptoms Associated with Menopause (WARM Study).

Objective: The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of postmenopausal vasomotor symptoms (VMS) and the impact of VMS and related treatment patterns among perimenopausal and postmenopausal Canadian women.

Methods: A subgroup analysis of data from a cross-sectional online survey of women aged 40-65 years conducted November 4, 2021, through January 17, 2022, evaluated the prevalence of moderate/severe VMS among postmenopausal Canadian women. The analysis also assessed survey responses from perimenopausal and postmenopausal Canadian women with moderate/severe VMS who completed the Menopause-Specific Quality of Life questionnaire, Work Productivity and Activity Impairment questionnaire, and the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System Sleep Disturbances-Short Form 8b and answered questions about treatment patterns and attitudes toward treatments.

Pregnancy and Breast Cancer: A Challenge for the Multidisciplinary Team. A Single Center Experience and Narrative Review.

Purpose: The diagnosis of breast cancer during pregnancy is a rare event, but it is more frequent in our daily clinical practice due to the progressing aging of pregnant women. The management of a woman affected by pregnancy-associated breast cancer (PABC) remains a challenge for the clinician as it is related to ethical and psychological decisions.

Patients And Methods: Here, we retrospectively described 10 cases of PABC in women treated at our Institution.

To assess caregiver-reported barriers and facilitators to receiving a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and accessing services as well as the influence of personal and cultural factors.Participants included 29 parents whose children had been diagnosed with ASD between January 2019 and November 2021 while receiving primary care at one of two urban, hospital-affiliated clinics. Semi-structured interviews and surveys were conducted between May 2022 and June 2023 in both English and Spanish.

A bispecific antibody approach for the potential prophylactic treatment of inherited bleeding disorders.

Inherited bleeding disorders such as Glanzmann thrombasthenia (GT) lack prophylactic treatment options. As a result, serious bleeding episodes are treated acutely with blood product transfusions or frequent, repeated intravenous administration of recombinant activated coagulation factor VII (rFVIIa). Here we describe HMB-001, a bispecific antibody designed to bind and accumulate endogenous FVIIa and deliver it to sites of vascular injury by targeting it to the TREM (triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells)-like transcript-1 (TLT-1) receptor that is selectively expressed on activated platelets.
