Background: Subtrochanteric proximal femoral fractures are generally treated with cephalomedullary nail fixation. We aimed to compare outcomes of subtrochanteric fracture fixation using a single lag screw (Gamma3 nail, GN) or dual lag screw (INTERTAN nail, IN) device.
Methods: The primary outcome measure was mechanical failure, defined as lag screw cut-out or back-out, nail breakage, or peri-implant fracture.
Background: Frailty increases the risk of mortality in the head and neck cancer population. This study examines the association between frailty and survival outcomes in patients with laryngeal squamous cell cancer (LSCC).
Method: Retrospective data collection from patients in the West of Scotland diagnosed with LSCC between 2014 and 2020.
Microsatellite instability is responsible for the human Repeat Expansion Disorders. The mutation responsible differs from classical cancer-associated microsatellite instability (MSI) in that it requires the mismatch repair proteins that normally protect against MSI. LIG4, an enzyme essential for non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ), the major pathway for double-strand break repair (DSBR) in mammalian cells, protects against expansion in mouse models.

Methods: This qualitative study conducted semi-structured interviews with 13 clinicians working with parents in child-focused behavioural interventions in Aotearoa New Zealand. Interpretive description was the overarching methodology for the study, with thematic analysis utilised to analyse data.
