Fluorescent protein-based Genetically Encoded Voltage Indicators (GEVI) offer a remarkable system for high-throughput screening of membrane potential phenotypes. The GEVI MARINA is a derivative from ArcLight, which conversely to ArcLight increases its fluorescence intensity alongside depolarization. However, two decades after its first reported measurements and calculations for phonons in suspended nanostructures, reconciling experiments and theory remains elusive. Our massively parallel calculations of phonon transport in micrometer-sized three-dimensional structures suggest that part of the disagreement between theory and experiment stems from the inadequacy of macroscopic concepts to analyze the data.

In this article, we review research that explores how adolescents' future orientations were shaped by the societal unpredictability, physical and mental health risks, and educational disruptions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings show that the pandemic, which exacerbated existing societal inequities, also heightened adolescents' social awareness, provoked feelings of uncertainty, and altered adolescents' short- and long-term plans for educational and career prospects.

This study examines a particular type of peer victimization, relational peer victimization, and its effect on students' engagement in the classroom. We specifically investigate the longitudinal relationship between relational peer victimization and academic engagement in a sample of 204 Black 3rd through 5th grade elementary school students by utilizing multiple informants: students and their parents reported on relational peer victimization, and teachers reported on students' academic engagement.
