Investigating Potential Drug-Drug Interactions in Pediatric and Adolescent Patients Receiving Chemotherapy.

Introduction: Pediatric and adolescent oncology patients admitted to receive chemotherapy are at risk for drug-drug interactions (DDI). While adult literature has quoted this risk to be as high as 95% of encounters, the literature in pediatrics is limited. This is a single-center, retrospective chart review of DDI in hospitalized pediatric oncology patients.

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori-associated gastric Burkitt's lymphoma in an adolescent patient: a rare case.

Primary gastric Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) is rare in the pediatric population. Furthermore, the association of Burkitt's lymphoma with Helicobacter pylori is not well defined. We report a case of primary gastric Burkitt's lymphoma associated with Helicobacter pylori diagnosed in a pediatric patient.

ROC study and SUV threshold using quantitative multi-modal SPECT for bone imaging.

Background: We investigated the clinical performance of a quantitative multi-modal SPECT/CT reconstruction platform for yielding radioactivity concentrations of bone imaging with Tc-methylene diphosphonate (MDP) or Tc-dicarboxypropane diphosphonate (DPD). The novel reconstruction incorporates CT-derived tissue information while preserving the delineation of tissue boundaries. We assessed image-based reader concordance and confidence, and determined lesion classification and SUV thresholds from ROC analysis.

Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma Metastasis to the Lumbar Spine Masquerading as a Schmorl's Node.

A Schmorl's node is a common incidental finding encountered during radiologic imaging. Despite the vertebral body being a common site of metastatic disease, a lytic lesion adjacent to an endplate with typical imaging features can often confidently be called a Schmorl's node. This is a case report of a patient with a single well-defined FDG-avid papillary thyroid carcinoma metastasis to the spine that had imaging findings characteristic of a Schmorl's node on CT and MRI.
