Background: The burden of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Latin America is high. Little is known about healthcare workers' (HCWs) knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of antimicrobial stewardship (AS), AMR, and antibiotic use (AU) in the region.

Methods: HCWs from 42 hospitals from 5 Latin American countries were invited to take an electronic, voluntary, anonymous survey regarding knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of AS, AMR, and AU between March-April 2023.

Mother-to-fetus transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus via the placenta has been reported but cannot readily be studied in pregnant women. This protocol describes an in vitro method to investigate SARS-CoV-2 infection of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), which are similar to epiblast cells in young postimplantation embryos. First, SARS-CoV-2 viral pseudoparticles, which contain the spike protein and a fluorescent reporter, are incorporated into a lentivirus backbone that is expanded in HEK 293T cells.

Susceptible dogs suffering from canine leishmaniasis (CanL) develop an ineffective humoral immune response that leads to the formation of circulating immune complexes (CIC). These CIC are aggregates of Leishmania proteins and anti-Leishmania immunoglobulins. Their deposition in different tissues is considered the main cause of mortality.
