An Inverse FEM for Structural Health Monitoring of a Containership: Sensor Network Optimization for Accurate Displacement, Strain, and Internal Force Reconstruction.

In naval engineering, particular attention has been given to containerships, as these structures are constantly exposed to potential damage during service hours and since they are essential for large-scale transportation. To assess the structural integrity of these ships and to ensure the safety of the crew and the cargo being transported, it is essential to adopt structural health monitoring (SHM) strategies that enable real-time evaluations of a ship's status. To achieve this, this paper introduces an advancement in the field of smart sensing and SHM that improves ship monitoring and diagnostic capabilities.

Analysis of the costs of adverse events in the public healthcare system of the Lombardy Region over five-year period 2016-2021.

The monitoring of litigation (i.e., claims received by the public healthcare system of the Lombardy Region) is started following the implementation of the "Circolare 46/SAN/2004" by evaluating the risk management activities carried out over a five-year period (2016-2021) and following a systematic approach by the regional risk management coordination group.

Patient Safety and Surgery: the Experience of the Lombardy Region. A Project on External Evaluation of Best Practices Implementation.

Meta-analysis studies published over the past 20 years document that approximately 10 -14 % of hospitalised patients have an adverse event in Surgery and at least half of these adverse events are considered preventable using the current standards of care. In order to improve the safety of surgical patients and increasing adherence to current standard of care in surgery, including communication within the team and teamwork, in 2007 the WHO launched the campaign "Safe Surgery Saves Lives". The WHO has also built a checklist for safety in the operating room containing 19 item in support of the operating team.

[The effective Communication in Vaccination Program as a Patient Safety tool: the Lombardy region experience].

The communication is strategic in Public Health because it is at the heart of who we are as human beings. It is our way of exchanging information and it also ensures the effectiveness of empowerment strategies. In this semantic context, the effective communication/education/information can be a Patient Safety tool because can reduce the adverse events by failure of information or education.

High-frequency rhythmic cortical myoclonus in a long-surviving patient with nonketotic hypergylcemia.

An 11-year-old girl with nonketotic hyperglycinemia who typically presented with a picture of early myoclonic encephalopathy in the neonatal period is presented in this article. Treated early with sodium benzoate and dextromethorphan, she became seizure-free, while myoclonus persisted. During examination, multifocal rhythmic myoclonic jerks in gamma frequency enhanced by motor activity were noted.
