Cervical Ectopic Pregnancy Presenting With Ruptured Posterior Cervical Lip: A Case Report.

Cervical ectopic pregnancy (CEP) is a rare but fatal early pregnancy complication. A rare case of cervical ectopic gestation with rupture of the posterior cervical lip is reported due to the rarity of this presentation and the need to consider it in patients presenting with miscarriages. We present a 19-year-old GP at a gestational age of 11 weeks and six days who presented with a cervical ectopic gestation with rupture of the posterior cervical lip.

Background: Omphalitis is an important cause of neonatal sepsis (NNS) and mortality. Quantitative estimates of risk of omphalitis-related neonatal death is about 10%-19%. Topical applications of antiseptics have been shown to reduce this risk burden but has not been well investigated.

Background: Subclinical beta-cell (β-cell) dysfunction is an endocrine abnormality and its association with recurrent miscarriages (RM) has not been extensively studied.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of β-cell dysfunction and abnormal glucose metabolism [fasting blood glucose (FBG) ≥ 5.1 mmol/L] among non-diabetic women with recurrent miscarriages and to establish if there was an association between RM and β-cell dysfunction and FBG ≥ 5.

Background: Contraceptive implants (including Jadelle) are highly effective, safe, and easy to use and have a long duration of action. They do not interfere with intercourse with immediate return to fertility after removal. However, disruption of the menstrual bleeding pattern is almost inevitable and coercive prescription may be a problem because insertion and removal of implants are provider dependent.

We studied current HIV rates and infection trend among women tested during delivery following scale-up of PMTCT and antiretroviral therapy (ART) programs in Jos, north central Nigeria.
