Aims: In light of recent advances in imaging techniques, molecular understanding and therapeutic options in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), we performed a systematic review of current guidelines for the diagnosis and management of HCM in order to identify consensus and discrepant areas in the clinical practice guidelines.
Methods And Results: We systematically reviewed the English language guidelines and recommendations for the management of HCM in adults. MEDLINE and EMBASE databases were searched for guidelines published in the last 10 years.
Biodielectrics is a subset of biological and/or bioinspired materials that has brought a huge transformation in the advancement of medical science, such as localized drug delivery in cancer therapeutics, health monitoring, bone and nerve repair, tissue engineering and use in other nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS). While biodielectrics has long been used in the field of electrical insulation for over a century, polar dielectric properties of biological building blocks have not been well understood at the fundamental building block level. In this review article, we provide a brief overview of dielectric properties of biological building blocks and its hierarchical organisations to include polar dielectric properties such as piezo, pyro, and ferroelectricity.

Background: Patients with refractory, symptomatic left ventricular (LV) mid-cavity obstructive (LVMCO) hypertrophic cardiomyopathy have few therapeutic options. Right ventricular pacing is associated with modest hemodynamic and symptomatic improvement, and LV pacing pilot data suggest therapeutic potential. We hypothesized that site-specific pacing would reduce LVMCO gradients and improve symptoms.

This article critically examines the proposed reforms to Irish mental health law the Mental Health Act 2001 (2001 Act). The article will provide background to the 2001 Act and the lengthy law reform process, which has resulted in the publication of the Heads of Bill that propose significant amendments. The article assesses the suggested reforms, considering Ireland's 2018 ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), which provides important context to the law reform process.

Traditionally, the convergence of these two realms is most often noted when considering the integration of research findings into educational practices or the involvement of, typically a small number, of students in research activities. While these practices have demonstrated efficacy, the fields of scientific research and education are evolving rapidly, necessitating a reevaluation of how we can optimize their convergence. In our discourse, we delve into these evolving trends, uncover the potential for greater integration, and, ultimately, enhance outcomes using the citizen science initiative Kefir4All as an illustrative example.
