Sex differences in psychiatric comorbidities of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder among children, adolescents, and adults: A nationwide population-based cohort study.

This cross-sectional, nationwide, population-based study aimed to elucidate sex differences in psychiatric comorbidities of Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) across children, adolescents, and adults. We analyzed data from Taiwan's comprehensive healthcare database, including 112,225 individuals diagnosed with ADHD, categorized by age (0-12, 13-18, ≥18 years) and sex. Psychiatric comorbidities were assessed using ICD-9-CM codes, focusing on age and sex-specific prevalence.

Basic Science and Pathogenesis.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a devastating neurodegenerative disorder with few therapies to treat, mitigate or prevent its onset. Understanding of this disease is predominantly based on research in non-Hispanic Whites (NHW) although AD disproportionately affects African Americans (AA) and Latin Americans (LA), underrepresented in AD research. To address this knowledge gap, the Accelerating Medicine Partnership for Alzheimer's Disease (AMP-AD) Diversity Working Group was launched to generate multi-omics data from post-mortem brain tissue from donors of predominantly AA and LA descent.

The anatomical reorganization required for C photosynthesis should also impact plant hydraulics. Most C plants possess large bundle sheath cells and high vein density, which should also lead to higher leaf capacitance and hydraulic conductance (K). Paradoxically, the C pathway reduces water demand and increases water use efficiency, creating a potential mismatch between supply capacity and demand in C plant water relations.

Synthetic C-glycosides play a crucial role in molecular biology and medicine. With the surge of interest in C-glycosides and the demand to provide efforts with sufficient feedstock, it is highly significant to pursue novel methodologies to access C-glycosides in a concise and efficient manner. Here, we disclose an attractive strategy that diverges itself from conventional multistep reaction sequences involving the manipulations of protecting groups.
