Background: A staging system based on cardiac damage for severe aortic stenosis (AS) has been validated for prognosis prediction following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Our study aims to investigate whether TAVR can lead to changes in cardiac damage shortly after the procedure and how these changes impact prognosis.
Method: Patients in this retrospective cohort study were classified into five stages (0-4) before TAVR based on the echocardiographic findings of cardiac damage.
Background: With an increasing number of Fontan patients surviving into adulthood, the burden of end-stage heart failure is increasing. Prior studies have reported suboptimal heart transplantation (HTx) outcomes. Therefore, the authors describe their institutional experience of HTx in patients with Fontan circulation failure, including heart-liver transplantation (HLTx) and pretransplant systemic ventricular assist device (SVAD) therapies.

Affecting about 1-2% of the population, it is estimated that approximately 30-40% of patients experience refractory epilepsy, which does not respond to traditional anticonvulsant drugs.
Aims: Therefore, developing novel, safe, and effective antiepileptic drugs remains a medical need.
We conducted a phase I trial to determine the optimal dose of triplet therapy with the tyrosine kinase inhibitor sitravatinib plus nivolumab plus ipilimumab in 22 previously untreated patients with advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The primary endpoint was safety. Secondary endpoints were objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), duration of response (DOR), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), 1-year survival probability, and sitravatinib pharmacokinetics.
