Establishment of anterior cruciate ligament injury thresholds for injured pediatric population with GNRB®, a prospective study on 141 children.

Background: Treating an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in pediatric patients is challenging. The GNRB® is a diagnostic tool for laximetry and can provide valuable information for clinical decision. As few data exist on this subject, the first objective is to provide physiological laxity values of anterior tibial translation in healthy and pathological knees in pediatric population by age and gender groups.

Conservation priorities when species interact: the Noah's Ark metaphor revisited.

This note incorporates ecological interactions into the Noah's Ark problem. In doing so, we arrive at a general model for ranking in situ conservation projects accounting for species interrelations and provide an operational cost-effectiveness method for the selection of best preserving diversity projects under a limited budget constraint.

Outcome of 27 patients with Hurler's syndrome transplanted from either related or unrelated haematopoietic stem cell sources.

Over the last 15 years, we have performed a total of 30 haematopoietic stem cell transplants on 27 children suffering from Hurler's syndrome. These children were of median age 11 months at the time of diagnosis and 25 months at the time of transplantation. The phenotype was severe in 21 cases (78%).
