The authors review theory and empirical research on the characteristics of memories for traumatic versus emotional events, with the goal of bringing together the cognitive and clinical perspectives on this issue. They consider the most important approaches to the study of traumatic and emotional memory and summarize the results of recent studies that have compared autobiographical recollections of traumatic and nontraumatic emotional experiences (positive and negative), either in nonclinical or clinical samples. Methods And Results: The Ischemia Management with Accupril post-bypass Graft via Inhibition of the coNverting Enzyme (IMAGINE) trial tested whether early initiation (< or = 7 days) of an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor after CABG reduced cardiovascular events in stable patients with left ventricular ejection fraction > or = 40%. The trial was a double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 2553 patients randomly assigned to quinapril, target dose 40 mg/d, or placebo, who were followed up to a maximum of 43 months.
This article presents normative data for the Rorschach Comprehensive System (CS) on 100 adult nonpatients from the Belgian French-speaking community. We compare our Belgian sample to a French one (Sultan et al., 2004), data of Exner's (Exner & Erdberg, 2005) and a Californian sample (Shaffer, Erdberg, & Haroian, 1999).
