The high incidence and mortality rates of colorectal cancer (CRC) in Alabama African Americans (AAs) and Oklahoma American Indians (AIs) are recognized as cancer disparities, yet the underlying causes have been poorly demonstrated. By evaluating CRC whole-exome sequencing and mutational profiles, here we report sets of mutated genes whose frequencies differed significantly (p < 0.05) in a race-specific manner.

An Unusual Case of Exudative Retinal Detachment in a 6-Year-Old Child with Acute Retinal Necrosis.

Purpose: To report a case of exudative retinal detachment (ERD) in a child with Acute retinal necrosis (ARN).

Method: Retrospective Chart Review.

Result: A six-year-old boy presented with anterior uveitis with hypopyon and exudative retinal detachment with peripheral confluent patches of retinitis in the left eye.

Cardiovascular disease prediction model based on patient behavior patterns in the context of deep learning: a time-series data analysis perspective.

To address the limitations of traditional cardiovascular disease prediction models in capturing dynamic changes and personalized differences in patients, we propose a novel LGAP model based on time-series data analysis. This model integrates Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, Graph Neural Networks (GNN), and Multi-Head Attention mechanisms. By combining patients' time-series data (such as medical records, physical parameters, and activity data) with relationship graph data, the model effectively identifies patient behavior patterns and their interrelationships, thereby improving the accuracy and generalization of cardiovascular disease risk prediction.

Aging process potentially aggravates microplastic toxicity in aquatic organisms: Evidence from a comprehensive synthesis.

Microplastics (MPs; <5 mm) will inevitably encounter aging processes after being released into the environment. However, the effect of aging on MPs toxicity in aquatic environment is still unclear despite that aging plays a critical role in changing MPs characteristics and behavior. Here, we conducted a meta-analysis to assess the effects of aging on MPs biotoxicity in aquatic environment.
