Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a prevalent malignant tumor worldwide, with a high mortality rate due to its complex etiology and limited early screening techniques. This study aimed to identify potential biomarkers for early detection of CRC utilizing targeted metabolite profiling of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Based on multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode, liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis identified metabolites in PRP collected from patients with CRC (n = 70) and healthy controls (n = 30).

Pancreatic cancer (PC) progresses rapidly, and gemcitabine-based chemotherapy has brought only limited efficacy. Identifying key drivers and therapeutic targets holds significant clinical value. In this study, through comprehensive analysis of multiple PC databases, this work identifies TRIM21 as a promising driver mediator.

Addressing the issues of a single-feature input channel structure, scarcity of training fault data, and insufficient feature learning capabilities in noisy environments for intelligent diagnostic models of mechanical equipment, we propose a method based on a one-dimensional and two-dimensional dual-channel feature information fusion convolutional neural network (1D_2DIFCNN). By constructing a one-dimensional and two-dimensiona dual-channel feature information fusion convolutional network and introducing a Convolutional Block Attention Mechanism, we utilize Random Overlapping Sampling Technique to process raw vibration signals. The model takes as inputs both one-dimensional data and two-dimensional Continuous Wavelet Transform images.

Aims: Nicotine-exacerbated atherosclerosis significantly increases global mortality. Endothelial cells, which line the interior of blood vessels, are crucial for maintaining vascular function. How nicotine is involved in vascular remodeling in atherosclerosis via modulating endothelial dysfunction remains unknown.

Background: Muscle mass and strength are severely compromised in patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma, such that the risk of poor overall survival increases as the prevalence of low muscle mass, also known as sarcopenia, increases. Additionally, at the time of autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT), 51% of patients experience low muscle mass and strength, which can prolong hospitalization and lead to increased risk of obesity, insulin resistance, lowered physical function, and poor quality of life.

Objective: The PROTECT (Prehabilitation Exercise Training in Multiple Myeloma Patients Undergoing Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation) trial will examine the preliminary effects of digitally supervised prehabilitative aerobic and resistance exercise on muscle strength in patients with multiple myeloma scheduled for ASCT.
