The profile of prostate epithelial cytokines and its impact on sera prostate specific antigen levels.

The aim of this study was determined the expression of pro inflammatory cytokines in prostate epithelial cells. Furthermore, we analysed the relation between these cytokines and sera PSA levels according the three groups: 0-4, 4-20 and >20 ng/mL. The study was carried out in five normal prostate (NP), 27 benign prostate hyperplastic (BPH) and 18 prostate cancer (PC).

Serum levels of ochratoxin A in healthy subjects and in nephropathic patients in Tunisia.

Ochratoxin A is a fungal toxin produced by Aspergillus and Penicillinium. These Fungi oftenly contaminate plant-derived products, and can generate deleterious toxic effects in man. In this study, ochratoxin A was determined in human serum samples collected in Tunisia, using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and fluorescence detection.

[Thyroglobulin: usefulness and limits in monitoring patients with thyroid carcinoma].

Unlabelled: The aim of this study was to assess the role of thyroglobulin in monitoring patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma.

Methods: We retrospectively sudied thirty patients who had total thyroidectomy and had been followed beteween 1999 and 2004 in nuclear medicine department. They have had iodine 131 whole body scans, repeated determination of thyroglobulin, thyreostimulin and thyroglobulin antibodies.
